Namun, apakah kualitasnya masih bagus atau tidak, siapa yang tahu kalau tidak dicek terlebih dahulu. Sekilar dari info yang tertera pada hard drive telihat 26 Januari 2011, ini berarti usia hard drive setidaknya sudah mencapai sekitar hampir 6 tahun. Banyak sekali informasi yang bisa kita peroleh saat mengakses SMART, dan informasi tersebut dapat pula menjadi sebuah "pertanda" atau "peringatan dini" jika terjadi suatu masalah pada hard drive kita.
